What is Prime Reading?
Amazon’s free ebook program is called Prime Reading. You can think of it as a private library exclusively for Prime members. The catalog includes over a thousand books, magazines, and audiobooks that are added on continual basis.
Like a real library, you technically take books. You are limited to 10 titles at once. When you finish a book and try to add a new one when your library is full, you will be asked to return one first.
Another benefit of Prime Reading is the Amazon First Reads program. This allows key members to view some member books from Authors before they are released to the public. You will receive one of these each month.
Where to find free Amazon Prime ebooks
You can browse the Prime Reading section on the Amazon website in a web browser. Make sure you are signed in to your Amazon Prime account.
Another place where you can explore Prime Reading is the Amazon Kindle app. It is available for iPhones, iPods, Android devices, Windows PCs and Macs. It also comes pre-installed on fire tablets.
In the Kindle app, you will see the “Prime Reading” section on the home page. Tap “View All” to explore the full catalog.
How To Download Amazon Prime Ebooks for free
As we explained above, there are many ways you can browse the “Prime Reading” catalog. Click on any book you like to open its product page.
On the product page, you will find the Kindle ebook, which is listed as Free for Prime members. Click or tap “Read First” or “Read and Listen First”. Here, Read and Listen first means you can also listen it as an audiobook.
The ebook will be added to your Amazon account and you can download it to read on your Kindle or Amazon Kindle app.
If there is an audiobook with the version of ebook, it will be automatically added to your audible account. You can download an audible app for iPhone, iPad or Android and can also control your audiobooks with voice commands on Echo devices.
Prime Reading may not have the largest library or many features, but it’s worth having an additional benefit when becoming Amazon prime member. If you want more ebook options, you can subscribe to Kindle Unlimited at Rs 169 per month.
